I tripped over this when i looking for a vise… I was somewhat skeptical of this tool’s capabilities however decided on give Rockwell RK9000 Jawhorse a try.
In the month or so since i received it, i’ve familiar it for every odd-job liveliness i’ve visit into. For my fellow skeptics out there sitting on the fence wondering, i have on say that i a.m. Convinced.
It has performed flawlessly on two of my children’s school projects. I seated a skate bearing in a assemble of pvc, drilled a cavity in a 1/4″ dowel, created a temporary bench so my daughter could perforate pilot holes in plywood, clamped pieces of woody so they could be screwed together, plus various other tasks. This morning i was installing a roof light fixture. I needed on unite the wires before i could attach the fixture on the roof with bolts. I clamped the light fixture on a seven-foot 1×2 with a small bar fastening. I then clamped the 1×2 in the jawhorse on that the fixture was in a perfect locate under the roof shop box. It was mere sturdy. Surprisingly so. I was in a locate on job in the direction of my own pace, no kid asking how long they had on help, no wife offering expert advice. (no offense, my dear!) The jawhorse was the perfect assistant.
Pros: surprisingly sturdy. You can fastening on items with a varying degree of force, depending on the task plus durability of the item. Solid construction, i see no reason why this aim won’t outlast me. Shipped by amazon willing on use right out of the box.
Cons: it’s a rarely bit hard on touch around. As a tradeoff for being a solid tool, it is besides heavy. The weight of a twosome bowling balls. Also, i at last decided on review the instructions for folding it up. It is just a rarely too unwieldy on touch around outdoors collapsing the legs. And… Each time i touch it, i get oil on my hands from the vise screw. I a.m. certainly not grabbing it in the right place. Also, plus this is a minor point, i guess, however something rubs me the wrong method about owning something advertised on an infomercial. I a.m. A rarely uneasy about having a friend advent over plus saying, “hey, you bought single of those things?”
I knew this was a righteousness purchase when single of my kids said, “man, he uses that for everything.” it’s not often that a purchase works out this well.
