The other reviewers middling much hitting the spots that required hit.
The keyboard is a short loud, sure, just apart from that it is but near perfect. I’ve ever liked the old IBM clicky keyboards. Typing on this reminds me of those, which I conceive is awesome.
The touchpad was *kinda* weird, just I went employed to it quickly (have had the machine for near 2 weeks now). Another reviewer commented on the scrolling, and has a answer posted equally well. Subsequently a mates hours of use, I have no problem employing the touchpad (have even played Portal 2 a number with it).
The performance is amazing, the exclusively thing slowing it down is the hard drive. I experience SSDs in my other machines, thence the difference is pretty apparent to me. I’ll pick up an SSD and build this the perfect short laptop.
Battery life is equally advertised. I brought it R835-P56x in to forge one day and downloaded completely of Portal 2, OpenSUSE 11.4 ISO, and Office, altogether while doing normal browsing with max brightness. I proceeded to bite and install OpenSUSE, and the battery still lasted roughly 6.5 hours. I was impressed.
The screen is definitely bright. I applied it in a car with sunshine coming through the window with no issues. Equally most, I’d prefer a matte screen, just any glare on this is barely noticeable, I didn’t eve believe virtually it while employing it in the sun. I just4 cite it because I just6 read a ThinkPad review that received me thinking nearly it.
I observed above that I played Portal 2 on it, yup! Works meliorate than I expected, the sandy bridge i5 is a beast!
